Black*i

■Concept

The Black*i has been developed based on a completely different concept from the conventional i*SHOCK series.

When it is shipped it is set to give 90-100mm minimum clearance*. Its special design allows a much wider range of ride height adjustment than the conventional i*SHOCK series.

The Black*i is specially designed as short stroke shocks. The damping force and spring rate are set to hard to stop body roll and give the driver sharper handling and more control while maintaining low form.

If the car's factory suspension kit uses a straight type spring you can choose your desired spring rate from within the setup range.

■Overhaul

This product can be overhauled as all parts are purely made in Japan and assembled in our own factory. We would like you to use it at the best ride feeling for a long time.

■Feature

　・Damping force adjustment

The Black*i damper includes 36-way damping force adjustment of both front and rear coilovers and compression and rebound can be adjusted simultaneously for ease of adjustment. (Not available for all models.) To prevent contact among parts a high spring rate is used and the damping force is set to balance it out. The color of the adjuster is black only as for the Black*i kit.

　・Mono-tube internal piston

The mono-tube piston relieves discomfort from push up due to its unique design. The steel body has an internal diameter of 40φ which is utilized for increasing oil capacity and improving heat dissipation. (Strut type vehicles have an internal diameter of 46φ)

　・Full-length adjustable

With the Black*i's unique lower bracket the vehicle can be lowered as low as possible without affecting the stroke rate. This gives a better ride at lowered ride heights and helps to maintain the level of ride comfort and cornering capability.

　・Oil

The oil selected for use with the Black*i has been extensively tested and is designed especially only for the Black*i.

　・The Ti2000 spring

The Black*i uses TMC's best selling coil spring 'Ti2000' which is an extremely lightweight and durable spring.

When ordering it is possible to choose from a range of spring rates so that you can find the ride that suits you. (If you don't choose the recommended rate the ride height may differ from that listed in the catalog.)

　・Upper mount

The Black*i coilover kit uses the combination of a steel plate and a rubber bush upper mount to minimize noise and friction. While the pillow ball upper mount gives quicker steering response and sharper cornering the rubber bush upper mount used in the Black*i gives a more comfortable and quieter ride.

The Black*i also utilizes ball bearings in the rubber mount for strut type vehicles to improve steering response.
