2004 RS★R Drift in Chicago
■RS★R Drift in Chicago/h3>
□We held Drift Event in Chicago US first time!!
Everyone knows that the drifting is very popular in the west coast (California) in the US.
Needless to say, people who live in the east coast recognize drifting, however they have never seen before.
This time, drift event of RS★R USA is held in the rout 66 speedway in Chicago east US.
Champion can get the prize money in this event; therefore top drivers from Formula D take part in this event.
Judging point in this event is to run through as cool and speedy as possible from the big corner to small corner. The chief juror is Mr. Orido who is famous for the judge of D1.
Drivers required to try solo run from the qualifying to semi-final, and only a final run do they need to run tandem style.
Thanks to the prize money, drivers ran in earnest from the beginning. People who watched the drifting first time got very excited.
Once RS★R driver begin demonstration run, spectators got more excited.
It is hard to come back to the booze after demo-run.
Most of the drivers are from the US who has a short experience for drifting, so they can’t compare with the Japanese drivers.
However, two drivers showed a great drive and win through, whose name is Daijiro Yoshihara and 17-year-old Gushi Ken. Both of the drivers can be champions of the event in Japan.
In this event, Japanese champion driver Matsuno showed the tandem run with both drivers,
however he lost for their good driving.
He said “I was little nervous…” but he must have felt that I shouldn’t underestimate the drift in the US.
The champion of the event is Gushi Ken.
He has a great future for his young age.
